Why This Resource Exists
Kentucky public-record access depends on the record and the office that created it. A jail intake entry, a police report, a court disposition, and a state corrections profile are separate records with different custody boundaries. The Shelby County Detention Center publishes a JailTracker roster for current county custody. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Timothy “Mark” Moore, maintains records created by that office. Kentucky courts document what follows an arrest, and the Kentucky Department of Corrections KOOL search covers sentenced or supervised state offenders.
This site puts those distinctions into plain language. It explains what a booking record may contain, how the public systems differ, and when a written open-records request is the better path. The resource does not copy official files into a private database or present a third-party page as a government source.
Records Paths Covered
The pages follow the record through the stage where it is most likely to exist:
- The county records hub describes the public JailTracker roster, booking fields, recent-record limits, and records-request options.
- The city pages separate the local police record from the county detention record when an arrest leads to Shelby County custody.
- The court and corrections material distinguishes a current county booking from a later case disposition, state sentence, or supervision record.
- The legal material explains Kentucky open-records rules, official correction paths, and the limits of copied or delayed information.
Limits of This Site
This is a private reference site. It is not affiliated with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County Detention Center, Kentucky Department of Corrections, Kentucky courts, or any other government body.
- It cannot release, detain, transfer, or otherwise confirm a person’s custody or release.
- It cannot retrieve, certify, or alter an official booking, police, court, or corrections record.
- It cannot post bond, arrange a visit, send funds, or give legal advice.
- It cannot promise that a public detail is complete, current, or unchanged.
Only the originating custodian can confirm a current custody or release status. A reference link cannot replace the official record or a court’s disposition.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some search tools are operated by outside providers. Those providers set their own results, terms, and prices. If a visitor uses a partner tool and buys a service, this site may receive a referral fee that helps support the resource. A referral does not turn a partner result into an official Shelby County record.
